AFTER MASS REFRESHMENTS

On Sundays, after the 9am and 11am Masses, in the Upper Room at Saint Patrick’s, and in the Portacabin after the 9.30am Mass at Holy Family, tea, coffee and squash are served. Please come and spend some social time with your fellow parishioners, and support the SVP at the same time.

SVP BBQ

Next Sunday (1 August), from 1.30-4.30pm, Huddersfield & Dewsbury District SVP will be holding their annual BBQ at Holy Family Church. At this event, which raises funds for the society’s ongoing work, there will be a cake stall, book stall, raffle, tombola and more!  Tickets, for what promises to be a great afternoon out for the whole family, cost £5, which includes food and a drink. As an even greater incentive children get in FREE!

You can obtain tickets from any of the members of the SVP at any of the three churches of the parish. Alternatively, you may wish to contact Rachel on 653524. For those who wish to assist with items for the day, a box will be left at the back of Holy Family Church for donations to the raffle or tombola. If you wish to provide a cake, these can dropped off on the day itself. Thank you.

SVP SPONSORED WALK

On Sunday 26 September  the St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) will be holding its annual Sponsored Walk to raise funds for the St. Vincent Support Centre and St. Jude’s Furniture Store.

The walk, which starts at St. Paul’s Church, Alwoodley in Leeds at 10.30am, is a family friendly five mile stroll around Eccup Reservoir. It covers a mixture of road and footpaths to suit all ages and abilities.If you would like to take part and raise funds for the SVP, please see the posters at the back of church, speak to a member of the SVP or call the St. Vincent Support Centre on 0113 248 4126.
